    Hi parentteam,

I am a mom of a teenage girl and a 23 year old son. I believe what you are doing is completely unethical. This is a complete violation of rights. We came to this country and fought to make it free and you are destroying these privalages. I raised my son with trust and discipline and now he is atending UCLA medical school. He appreciates the freedom he had and said some of his friends who had "crazy" parents did not do so well later in life. Teenagers need to experience life for themselves not through your eyes.

    Back the fuck off,

    Carrie (Irvine, California)

Lots of news going on in Tustin and Irvine. Plenty good and some so heartbreaking that parents are asking for the Parent Team to take more action. We will be planning a "reunion" -- we need to reunite and give each other support, provide resources, inform the schools and community, and remain a strong force in the intervention and prevention of drug and alcohol use in and among our teens in Tustin and Irvine. Please watch the site for more info and check your emails too. Watch for fliers and decals. Let others know we are here.

Addictive drugs affect behavior through their effects on the brain "reward system" - the production of dopamine, linked to the pleasure sensation. This brain "reward system" has a powerful influence over behavior. Dependence-producing drugs - drugs that, unlike marijuana, affect dopamine production - eventually exert more influence on the user's behavior than any other factor. The effect of addiction on behavior is so profound as to create a condition called denial, in which someone will say or do anything to continue access to the drug. Denial is a characteristic of drug abuse, and it is largely cultivated by the effects of various drugs on the brain reward system. Herkenham's research provides a clinical basis for claims that denial is not a characteristic of marijuana use.

As a drug addict and alcoholic*
  • IndecisiveInstruction
A drug addict and an alcoholic when I was on here. My friends and family members are still on here, I'm speaking for them. And thanks for giving me credit for "my" word!
  • exbudhead
How are you portrayed on this site? To use your word.
  • IndecisiveInstruction
Not once did I say I was gonna hit anyone with a lawsuit, I stated what could happen through the courts if you post pics on a website without permission. If you posted a picture of yourself with a beer in your hand and someone were to take that picture to portray you as a drunk or someone in need of rehab, it would be illegal, defamation of character is what they call it. Now do you get it? It probably won't matter anyways, the owner of the site is gonna take this post down because he/she refuses to be open-minded.
  • exbudhead
ok whatever dude. wheres the lawsuit.
  • IndecisiveInstruction
Haha good thing my name's not Robert Gonzalez, nor am I of hispanic descent. You are a genius, real nobel prize material. Do me a favor and please post pictures of your Food4Less Graduate School Diploma so we can all honor your achievements!
  • exbudhead
IndecisiveIndecision, Roobbbert Gonzalez - We all know it's the same idiot - when are you going to actually follow through on all these big boy threats about lawsuits? Been knowin you for too long and you always were a big TALKer. Everyone thinks ur an idiot - all these parents are laughing their asses off at you. young kids still think yer cool, but most of us know you're a fuckin loser. what legal supporter could you possibly have? let's see some action now mr big talker.

Costa Mesa Welcome aboard! I would just like to stress the importance of keeping yourself and your childs name out of the website. We dont know who our kids know and/or who their friends are. Aside from wanting our children to not do drugs we want them SAFE. Be careful what you post and who you point fingers at. My child has a lot of information but will stay quiet because he/she likes life. I dont ask and i dont disclose what i do know. I will never ask him/her to disclose anything for fear of retaliation no matter how small. Move forward but do it with caution don't tell your kids what you know just be AWARE and CAREFUL!! A Tustin Parent

marijuana is my medicine. its curing me
  • good_kid_100
to be honest who cares if your pictures are on this website. your the dumbass who put that picture on your myspace because you thought it was cool or whatever so get over it, and by them posting the pictures on this website does not make it illegal. they are on a public website.
  • ParentTeamCostaMesa
We want in too. www.xanga.com/parentteamCostaMesa. Thanks to Tustin and Irvine. Santa Ana site is going up too. Our friends in different cities all want to join. When is the next meeting?
  • exbudhead
glad you don't have my pics up. i deleted them when i quit smoking bud. when i applied for jobs, they look up names on myspace and check out our pics. even tho i deleted them, they can still find them. hurts kids when they try to get into college too. wonder if indecisiveasshole is going to sue colleges and businesses. he probably sells drugs and obviously has no education except from street and congame bullshit, so he won't care. it is legal to post them without anyone's permission unless a minor and the parent requests them to be removed. that is what my uncle, a patent lawyer told me. kids whose pics are up here are screwing themselves. not you parent team.
  • bombjustins
however, unless they have given the right to use them, its called slander, since you are portraying them as frequent drug users and alcoholics, and that is illegal. do the right thing and set the example you're trying to set by not breaking the law
